Audi sets 57th consecutive monthly U.S. record in September 2015

  • Sales for the month rose 16.2% to 17,340 vehicles
  • All-time best U.S. sales month for Audi Q5; SUV sales up 44.3%
  • All-time best September sales of Audi Certified pre-owned vehicles

October 01, 2015 | HERNDON, Virginia -- Audi reported that its September 2015 sales increased 16.2% to 17,340 vehicles, a total that stands as the brand’s 57th straight month of record U.S. sales.

Audi achieved its best-ever September sales in the U.S. to mark its 57th consecutive monthly sales record. The previous September record was set in 2014 with 14,917 Audi vehicles sold. Through the first nine months of 2015, Audi U.S. sales rose 12.5% from last year to 147,403 vehicles.

Third-quarter U.S. sales for Audi rose 15.3% from last year, with the Audi SUV models posting a 50.0% increase and Audi A3 models posting a 30.8% increase.

September results were bolstered by sales of Audi luxury SUVs, with a 44.3% increase for the Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 models combined. The Q5 posted a 58.9% increase from last year, marking its best-ever sales month in the U.S. The Q7 posted a 42.2% increase from last September, and the Q3 posted a 3.5% increase over last year.

In just its second month in the market, the all-new Audi TT posted a 345.2% sales increase from last year.

The A3 model line achieved robust sales in September 2015. The compact premium models achieved a 15.9% increase over year-earlier sales. The Audi A6 and A7 models also performed well, with year-over-year increases of 13.4% and 6.5%, respectively.

Audi Certified pre-owned vehicle sales set a new September record, with a 1.5% gain on 3,923 CPO vehicles sold. CPO sales year-to-date have increased 6.4%.

Audi holds the longest running monthly record sales streak in the premium car market according to a competitive sales report from MotorIntelligence.com.
