Nicole Mejia will receive the AFI Conservatory fellowship, beginning August 2019 in the Conservatory’s prestigious Directing program. The inaugural Audi Fellow, Natalie Camou, celebrated her graduation from the program on June 10, 2019. This Fellowship is a part of the brand’s continued commitment to drive progress, as well as a dedicated commitment in the future of the storytelling community.
The Audi Fellowship scholarship program, which began in 2017, selects a promising female director who possess exceptional talent, need, and a fearlessly forward spirit for a two-year AFI Conservatory enrollment. The scholarship serves as a $215,000 contribution to help expand opportunities for women in the film industry.
The AFI Conservatory is among the most respected filmmaker training programs in the world, and includes notable alumni like Amy Heckerling (“Fast Times at Ridgemont High”), Mimi Leder (“On the Basis of Sex”) and Patty Jenkins (“Wonder Woman”).
