Team Magnus Racing in round six of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship achieved its best result this season. After two hours and 40 minutes of racing at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, team principal and driver John Potter with teammate Andy Lally clinched third place in the Audi R8 LMS 95 thousandths of a second behind the runner-up and three seconds behind the winner. This win marks the first podium for the team this year, and the first for all of Audi Sport Customer Racing.
Audi R8 LMS GT4
Jeff Burton competed in round five of the American NASA Utah club sport series. On the circuit in Utah, Burton, in an Audi R8 LMS GT4 of Rearden Racing, achieved third place in the GTSU class in race one.
Audi RS 3 LMS (TCR)
The Audi RS 3 LMS scored its first two victories in the Canadian Touring Car Championship. In round three of the series at Shannonville, Marco Cirone from Mark Motors Racing, won his class in race one with a 38-second advantage ahead of a GT4 race car. In race two, Gary Kwok from Team Alphasonic Motorsport prevailed in his category in another Audi RS 3 LMS. On Saturday, Kwok was racing with another team and another marque, but a technical problem was not resolvable by Sunday, so Kwok switched to the Audi customer team overnight and on making his debut won in the German touring car.
New leaders of IMSA standings
Britt Casey Jr. and Tom Long in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge recaptured the lead of the standings. At Motorsport Park in Canada, the driver duo from Compass Racing in an Audi RS 3 LMS celebrated its third victory this season, now ranking three points in front of its teammates, Rodrigo Sales and Kuno Wittmer. Stephen Simpson and colleague Michael Johnson from Team JDC-Miller MotorSports achieved second place in another Audi RS 3 LMS at Motorsport Park. Third place in Canada went to Audi drivers Roy Block and Pierre Kleinubing from Compass Racing.
