THE AUDI SPORT RED RHOMBUS IS EARNED, NOT GIVEN.
Drivers and passengers can enjoy the higher level of performance available in the Audi S6 and Audi S7 from the comfort and luxury of the interiors. Both vehicles feature S sport front seats with Valcona leather and diamond pattern contrast stitching. Embossed “S” logos are placed on the upper backrest of the front seats, and twelve ways of power adjustment help make it easy to find your preferred driving position. The available Luxury package includes individual contour front seats in Valcona leather with ventilation and massage functions as well as the available Extended leather package that places leather on the door armrest, center console and dashboard. The contemporary design of the interior, highlighted by smooth gloss black surfaces and the infotainment displays of MMI® touch response¹, can be revved up with Brushed Aluminum, matte inlays that add a purposeful, motorsports-inspired touch to the interior.
In S model tradition, both the Audi S6 and Audi S7 receive styling refinements to accentuate their sporting characters. The front lip splitter and the air intakes feature more acute angles and swaths of aluminum-optic, and the Singleframe® grille has been redesigned with double slat horizontal grilles finished in a platinum hue. Aluminum-optic also covers the exterior mirror housings. The lower sections of the rear bumpers now include a rear diffuser inlay finished in black chrome matte, which is flanked by twin-outlet exhaust tips. However owners choose to equip their vehicles, they can experience—by the seat of their pants—how race-winning, motor sports engineering can transform an exceptionally capable Audi A6 and Audi A7 into outstanding performers.¹ The line of succession to the sport sedan throne starts here.
Like previous generations of the Audi S6 and Audi S7, power plays an important role. In the new-generation S6 and S7, torque rises by 37 lb-ft over the previous generation. The 2.9-liter TFSI® biturbo V6 engine is rated at 444 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque—the kind of power that can propel either the S6 from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds or the S7 from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.²
The biturbo engines in the S6 and S7 are the first engines in the United States to use an innovative electric powered compressor (EPC). Placed between the intercoolers and intake manifolds, the EPC operates on a 48-volt electrical system that can spin the compressor wheel up to 70,000 rpm in approximately 250 milliseconds to help increase air flow into the intake manifold, virtually eliminating turbo lag at low engine speeds. Power is fed through an 8-speed Tiptronic® automatic transmission and a quattro® all-wheel drive system engineered to sense traction deficits and redistribute power to the wheels with the most traction. To help optimize power distribution, an available quattro® sport differential—part of the available S Sport package—can direct power to the outside rear wheel during a turn to help power the vehicle around a corner. Both the Audi S6 and Audi S7 come standard with S-tuned air suspension systems that have been calibrated for handling precision. Via the Audi drive select system, the driver can choose from four drive modes (Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Individual) that change ride and handling characteristics. An available S Sport adaptive steel suspension features electronically activated dampers that can adjust pressure in milliseconds to help counter body roll through the corners and the forces generated under braking and acceleration. Elevating handling control and stability is accomplished by the available Dynamic all-wheel steering, a system featuring a rear-wheel steering system that can turn the wheels in the opposite direction from the front wheels to help reduce the turning radius and help increase agility in tighter, low speed turns. To help improve stability during highway speeds, Dynamic all-wheel steering can steer the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels.
YOU CAN CALL IT A SIBLING RIVALRY WHERE EVERYONE WINS.
